Always love your book recommendations! Memorial Days sounds right up my (grief-obsessed) alley, and I felt your description of your own journey so deeply. Thanks for sharing as always :)
Thanks, Amy - what a brilliant book list! I loved Host City as well - and it does read like a warning; Appreciation, also an underrated excellent book; The Argonauts, for those looking for other ways of having conversations around gender diversity - stunning; JP Pomare is a bit of a legend, and great when you can see him talk about his books - smart and funny; and Memorial Days and Home Sick are both currently waiting for me! I love the story about your own grief-trip and what came after.
Having now read Memorial Days and Homesick, back to back, I have to say they were both excellent. Memorial Days incredibly moving, and I was in awe of teenage Hannah’s ability to embrace every situation so competently! And how fascinating to see Burial Rites emerge from it all.
Oh my goodness I never win anything!! Beyond excited! ❤️
